A lot of sports centers, football and hockey fields and gymnasiums (спортивные залы) have been built  in England and Germany during the 20th century and last 10 years.   A great number of outstanding sportsmen and athletes have been trained in these countries during this period.   These countries conduct  (лучше hold - проводят) large-scale sport actions (может, events) every year, for example Fußball-Bundesliga, Deutschland Tour, German Figure Skating Championships in Germany, English Premier League, the Wimbledon Championships, and the Universe Championships in England and so on.
