As the holidays approach, there are more people on the road. At times, the traffic can be just as busy in the morning, as it is during rush hour traffic. Most of these people are on their way to the stores to do some shopping. Just a couple of days before Thanksgiving, the grocery stores are being hit pretty hard. During this time of year, people are normally at their worst. They push their way through crowds, bumping into people and not apologizing for it. In one of the Wal-mart Super Center, just outside of Gainesville, the grocery side of the store was extremely busy. People were buying food for their Thanksgiving dinner. Every grocery cart had a frozen turkey in it. As well as, corn, potatoes, and boxes of corn bread mix. People were stocking up on paper plates, napkins, and plastic cups. During all this, the customers were not in their normal shopping moods. People were being courteous to others, saying “excuse me” and “you go ahead”. When the customers were in other people's way, they apologized, and hurried to get out of the way. In Luke, Jesus tells the parable of a Samaritan, who stopped to help a man, who had been robbed. This man did a lot for a complete stranger. In today's society, it seems strange that people are nice to one another. Everyone having this polite behavior, to say the least, is pretty awesome. However, this positive attitude may end somewhere around midnight this Friday. That's when the stores begin to open for Black Friday. Enjoy the politeness while it lasts. Just remember, December is just around the corner and that's the most Grinchmas time of the year.
