Two years ago I (be) on my way to spend the holidays with my fiance who (live) in Boston at the time. I (feel) really tired beacause I (be) to a party the night before. At the airport, I (run into) a colleague who (be) on her way to Buffalo. She (tell) me that she (arrival) there the previous day and that no fligths (take off) since Thursday because of the snowstorms. It (look like)nwe would have to wait a long time. We could not do any shopping because most of the stores (close) early owing to a lack of personnel. My co-worker (have) a classical guitar with her and I (take) signing lessons before I (abandon) the idea of becoming an American Maria Callas. The people around us (look) really fed up so we (decide) to give an improvised concert to cheer up all the passengers who (miss) their flights. This (last) for about three-quarters of an hour and then we (hear) that the ground staff (clear) the runway and everybody could finally check in. Then, to my honor, I suddenly (remember) - I (live)my passport on the kitchen table. I (put) it there so I would not forget it. So I (go) back home and (make) myself a lonely dinner and (talk) for hours with my fiance on the phone. It was by far the worst holiday I (ever spend).
