Our country is rich in different customs and traditions.No wonder, that there are a lot of holidays that people cele­brate: New Year, Christmas, the Interna­tional Women's Day, Easter and so on.Moreover, every family has its own special days when some special occasions, like birthdays, are celebrated.To my mind, any holiday is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to get together.I especially adore Christmas.It's like a double holiday for me, because it comes very soon after New Year when you are still in a mood for celebration.In fact, the holiday of Christmas can be divided into two big parts: Christmas Eve and Christmas itself.Before Christmas Eve, we always clean up our house properly.There is also a tradition to visit the graves of the dead relatives before the Holy Supper.We all help mother to cook the twelve lean dishes for this special supper, among which — borshch, varenyky, mushrooms, fish and, of course, kutia - the most important dish of the holiday.When the first star appears in the sky, our family has the Holy Supper.All the members of our family prepare presents for each other.There is a tradition to put them under the decorated Christmas tree, which is always in our house during winter holidays.These presents we share on Christmas Eve after the Holy Supper.The next day is Christmas.I often join my friends to go and sing Christmas carols in the streets.In my opinion, Christmas is one of the special holidays for all and for everyone
