I had to right a persuassive essay (that u don't have to read) about this topic, and I was in favor of regulation. What are your thoughts and options on this. If you aren't in school, would you want schools to monitor your kids social media accounts?Update: I believe schools should regulate social media on students’ devices. It could help prevent students from posting mean things or embarrassing photos of other students or teachers. It could also prevent students posting private information about themselves, fellow classmates, and teachers. I think that if postings have anything to do with the school, its activities, students or staff, the school should be allowed to regulate it.Update 2: If the students are using school owned devices to post, even if it doesn’t involve school and/or outside of school hours, then students have no rights to privacy, and the schools should be allowed to regulate it. Schools need to protect their students and staff.  Some kids aren't as good as we see them. There are lots of children who are perfect in person but are far from that on the internet. There are a lot of things kids can do to get themselves into trouble on the internet and in person.Update 3: The only difference is the amount of monitoring they have. A lot of parents aren’t watching their kids like they should be, so why can’t the schools step in to protect the kids.  Okay, so I want you to imagine you are a student in high school. You just came out of the cafeteria and you are covered in food because someone poured their tray on to you. Now think that someone just took a picture of you and posted it on Instagram. The picture went viral. How do you think you would feel?Update 4: You would probably be very ashamed and embarrassed. You might even want to change schools. If the school was monitoring the students, this wouldn’t have gone so far. They could step in before it had gone viral, and there would be little harm done. If schools are monitoring children, then there would be much less of these kinds of posts anyway because of the fear of getting caught.Update 5: Schools, specifically when the school and its students are effected, should be allowed to regulate social media. So many bad things can happen because of misusing and misbehaving on social media. People get kidnapped, burglarized, and even killed all the time, and its often related to social media. Children need to be protected from these horrific tragedies. If teachers monitor social media, we could prevent all social media problems, fights, and bullying. Schools should monitor social media.
