Verbitsky Mikhail Mikhailovich — Ukrainian composer, choroideremia, swastikas, author of music of the national anthem"Sche not vmerla Ukraine". Born on 4 Mar 1815 in Nadsyannya in a family of Greek-Catholic priest. When the boy was 10 years old his father died. Over Michael and his younger brother Vladislav took custody of a distant relative – the Bishop of Przemysl, Ivan Snegursky, one of the prominent figures of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church. First, they together with his brother studied at the gymnasium and Lyceum.In 1837 he abandoned theology. Mikhail Verbitsky married, but marital happiness was short-lived. A year later the woman died, leaving him with a son baby.In the 1840s, Verbitsky refers to the religious music – wrote the Liturgy for mixed choir (1847), "The angel wapse" etc. Church compositions.The national anthem "Sche not vmerla Ukraine and the glory and freedom" created by Paul Chubinsky and Mikhail Verbitsky, today is powerfully and proudly – as a symbol of immortal strength of the people who have chosen the path of freedom and independence. First performance of a piece "Sche not vmerla Ukraine" as the national Anthem took place on 10 March 1865 in Przemysl as the final number of the concert dedicated to Taras Shevchenko. In the last years of his life the composer was engaged in teaching activities, wrote articles, created music. Died 7 Dec 1870 in village Mills (now in Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland) from cancer of the tongue
